Hobbies

As some of you may know, I work with stained glass (some say it's therapy!). During the Fall of 2005 and Spring of 2006 I had the opportunity to work with Maria Valente, an artist and teacher of art at a college in Argentina. Maria took a subbatical from her teaching to design and do the great majority of the construction of stained glass windows for my church, Lord of Life Lutheran in West Chester, OH. Maria stayed at a house on the church property and I spent many evenings with her learning how to construct such a large project, cutting glass and working with leaded cane for the first time. Maria spent just about every Sunday night with the Schneiders enjoying pizza and conversation. Below are some pictures of Maria and the windows. The church's architect Art Hupp helped in the planning and installation.
Maria joins Marcia and I in celebrating my birthday.

Maria, Art and I were able to get all the panels in place without breaking any!
